E.3 List of Internal Review Committee Members and Supervisors

The candidate must review the list of internal reviewers (Section D.12) to identify potential conflicts of interest. The conflicts of interest must be shared with and resolved by the dean (Section D.5) before the promotion review begins. If the candidate perceives a conflict of interest with the administrators reviewing their dossier, those concerns should be shared with the relevant supervisor (i.e., shared with the dean for a potential conflict of interest with the department chair or with the Faculty Affairs team in the Provost’s Office for a potential conflict of interest with the dean or a member of the president’s committee).

In all cases, to the greatest extent possible, decisions about whether an individual should be recused from review because of a conflict of interest will be made before review begins.

If the conflict is not resolved to the candidate’s satisfaction, the candidate may include a statement in the dossier (Section G.11) to document their concerns about conflicts of interest with internal reviewers.
