Assigning Roles for FAS Vault Folders

Editing folder permissions is used for restricting folder access in conjunction with Meridian Administrator access groups.

Select a folder and ensure it is highlighted in blue. In this example, FAS/MainArea is highlighted.

Navigate to the top toolbar and select ‘Folder’.

Then select “Assign Roles…” to edit the roles and privileges assigned to the folder. Note the difference between parent and child folders.

Once selected, a pop up will appear as shown below. Select “Add” or “Remove” to edit the roles.

Select “Remove” and select the role to remove. Then hit “OK”. Or select “Add” and select the role and group from the drop down. Then hit “OK”.

Please note this example depicts the parent folder FAS/Main Area. A child folder role panel looks like the following:

At the bottom there is an option to select to inherent the parent folder’s roles. For the main child folders (FAS, Assistant to SR Vice President, Assistant Vice President, Associate Vice President, and Senior Vice President) this option should not be selected.

The child folders with the main folders should have this box selected to ensure the permissions carry over. For instance, select the FAS folder then the Administrative folder. Navigate to the assigned roles and the inherit from parent folder option should be selected.
