Randomization within Assignments
The Quest platform allows for many levels of randomization.
Optional:
- Web and bubble sheet assignments have their questions shuffled by default, however you can specify the system not to do this to allow for a particular flow of questions.
Not optional:
- All multiple choice questions have their answer choices automatically shuffled.
- All non-HTML questions (TeX-based) have the ability to be randomized using random number generators in the code section (see the Function Library for more details). This feature is built into the problem and pulls random numbers (within a range) to be used for computational elements presented in the question. You can identify if your questions have number randomization by clicking on the black < > arrows–if there are different numbers that may be in a field it will display when you click through various previews of the problem.
