Metadata-Centric Meet Up
The Metadata-Centric Meet Up is a space for metadata workers to share issues and strategize best practices relating to the creation and maintenance of metadata for bibliographic and cultural heritage materials. Currently, this work focuses primarily on reparative metadata practices. Members represent a variety of cultural heritage spaces on UT Austin's campus, including but not limited to UT Austin Libraries (including Perry-Castañeda Library, the Alexander Architectural Archives, and LLILAS Benson Latin American Studies and Collections), the Harry Ransom Center, the Blanton Museum of Art, the Tarlton Law Library, and the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, as well as members from universities outside of UT.
The MCMU no longer has regular meetings, but shares information and resources via its dedicated listserv. Members are encouraged to present projects they are working on or any topics relevant to metadata work. Special virtual meetings will organized as requested.
If you are interested in joining the Meet Up, please email the listserv moderator Ima Oduok, ima.oduok@austin.utexas.edu
