Qualifying Exam 

We recommend PhD students take the qualifying exam at the end of their first year of PhD. The qualifying exam committee must comprise of at least three faculty members including your PhD advisor. The qualifying exam is an oral Pass/Fail exam. Once you pass your qualifying exam, please submit an abstract of your PhD dissertation and a potential title, to apply for PhD candidacy.
