🔩 Dynamics:
Updates
Unsprung: Unsprung ran sims on axle diameters, tried out SKF Sim Quick Pro for bearing and trailing arm geometry began development
Suspension: Suspension researched adams kinematics software, Kayla worked on refining her sketch to find non-hdpts defined values, trailing arm geometry began development
Steering: Steering worked on bump steer research + created a 3D sketch for Ackermann because I had anti for some reason + found the C factor of the old steering rack on the car + found issues with steering placement relative to the bounding box that we have + found a steering geometry that should work for new gen
Week Plan
Unsprung: 2 upright designs, 2 hub designs for Sami, Sumi, and Sohan. Jonathan works on rear swingarm which shows methods of motor and caliper mounting
Steering: Research bump steer optimization and have it implemented in CAD by workday
Suspension: Carter secures adams/dynatune, La’akea sims pushrods, Oliver sims control arms, Manas works with Jonathan on refining trailing arm hdpts
Upcoming Deadlines
- - Location of steering rack (code is broken, talking to Jacob about it. Will try to get a value that is worst case though.) - Steering
- - Length of tie rods (code is broken, talking to Jacob about it. Will try to get a value that is worst case though.) - Steering
- - Steering rack extender length (code is broken, talking to Jacob about it. Will try to get a value that is worst case though.) - Steering
- - Backup tires that aren’t Bridgestone are decided - Unsprung
- - Brake calipers and rotor size decided (Arav needs to get us this data) - Unsprung
- - Model bending forces and moments on the axle (working on throughout the week) – switched to doing sims instead - Unsprung
- - Axle diameter decided (doing the calcs for it throughout the week) - Unsprung
- - Axle length (already have somewhat of an idea) – switched to doing sims instead - Unsprung
- - Upper steering architecture selected (is in talks with ergo and suspension)- Steering
- - Bump steer design optimization - Steering
- - Finalize brakes and rotor config (Arav needs to get us this data) - Unsprung
- - Caliper and motor mount for Swingarm - Unsprung + Suspension
- - Decide bearings - Unspung
- - Suspension non hardpoint critical values decided - Suspension
