Continuing to refine budget
What is the initial budget?
Cost of motion controller?
Cost of one full set of necessary equipment?

TSC grant decision pushed to February 2025.
Have $50k fro Karl, Taft planning to match
John is working with engineer from del-Tau - don’t want to get quotes until we have defined our pathway forward.
Two options: PMAC brick or modular programmable option.
Niv prefers modular, need Phillips input.
Need to measure servo amps delivered - Coyne to be engaged in this effort.
What are the necessary initial components: controller, computer, amplifiers, encoders
Need to discuss encoders.
Action items
- John Kuehne updated quotes for motion controllers and encoders
- Teznie Pugh discuss with Phillip meeting for next week
- Begin purchasing processes for controller

Need updated bids for controllers and encoders; estimates are $9,000-$13,000 for controller plus $3,000 for software (very necessary); about $5,000 per encoder.
Desire for redundancy.
Desire for test bed and spare of motion controller.
Probably have about $55,000 to get started what can we do for this.
Flipped cage is costed on the sheet at $120,000. Include focusing and calibration system
Other items: need to look into service run, remote control of louvres, hand paddle control and integration for engineering purposes.
