  1. First open sequence in timeline and select the video and audio tracks to export.

  1. Mark an in point at the beginning of the portion of the timeline to export and an out point at the end of the portion of the timeline to export. If the whole timeline is to be exported mark an in point at the beginning and an out at the end.

o Please note that if you are exporting this for a chase quicktime for a protools mix make sure the beginning timecode of first picture is 1:00:00:00. To do this delete anything that is before first picture such as slug or bars and tone. Then click in the record side of the composer window and click “apple I” on mac or “cntl I” on PC. Change the timecode in the window to 1:00:00:00. If you need drop frame change the colons to semicolons 1;00;00;00.

o In the “Options” dialog select the following choices for a native uncompressed AVID quicktime then click > Save and then > Save again

    1. Choose Export As QuickTime Movie, can choose to Use Marks, Use Enabled Tracks


    2. Check Same as Source by clicking on the Custom button


    3. Click on Video and Audio or what you want to export


    4. Video Format as shown here choose 601/709 this will be the correct setting in case you need to import back into AVID


    5. Display Aspect Ratio leave on Native Dimensions



    6. Click Save

When you open the file in Quicktime Player and open the "Movie Inspector" you will see that the movie is compressed as a AVID DnxHD Codec movie 1920 x 1080
