Requirements

  1. Check that the computer is capable of running Windows 7

    4. See your manufacturers support site to see if they have drivers for Windows 7
  2. Make sure your software will work in Windows 7
  3. Make sure you have installers (CD's, downloads etc) and licenses (serial numbers, license files, etc) for your software
  4. Make a note of where data is installed on the computer

Getting the Upgrade

  1. Contact the ECE helpdesk at help@ece.utexas.edu to arrange a time to do the upgrade (helpdesk@me.utexas.edu)when the system can be dropped off.
  2. Bring in the computer and show helpdesk staff all data that needs to be migrated
  3. Helpdesk staff will backup the entire system, install Windows 7, and move data back on to the computer
