Many individuals have contributed substantially to all aspects of project development. As mentioned in the project history, primary Primary contributors since the inception of the project in the 1980's are Drs. Clark Hubbs (deceased), Gary Garrett and Robert Edwards.Starting Starting in the late 1990's Dr. Dean Hendrickson at the Texas Natural History Collection became involved in the project to develop its database and website and began data compilation. In Starting in 2006 Adam Cohen (TNHCi Collection Manager) joined the team and focused on continued normalization, georeferencing. More recently, as the primary data manager. Others who have contributed significantly to the project include Ben Labay, Dr. (Floyd) Doug Martin, Jeremy Harrison and Melissa Casarez, have made significant contributions in the course of employment in the project. Dr. Gary Garrett, formerly at Texas Parks and Wildlife, joined the team in 2015. Other contributors have helped in diverse ways as student employees, volunteers, data and other content contributors.
We also thank the thousands of collectors who since the 1850's have deposited specimens in the contributing fish collections and gratefully acknowledge the institutions that maintain those collections. Without all of these people and institutions this project obviously would not have been possible.
