Though many institutions provided records from outside of Texas our geographic scope and we retain them in the database, only records within our scope were fully processed. As a result, users may find records from outside of Texasour scope, but they will typically not be mapped because they have not been assigned coordinates by us, lack data for categorical variables (derived through GIS for other records), may have non-standard species names, etc. These records, however, may have benefited from some processes, such as normalization of collector names, etc. We hope to expand the project beyond Texas in the futureThese records are best found via our "Verbatim field Contains" query option on our Data tab.
