To ensure a seamless transition between design and manufacturing, production drawings were made for the most critical components of the project such as the cam shaft, the bearing holders and the knife carriage.
Machining challenges: machining and attaching the drive linkage to the knife which had false dowel pins. Runout in the 4 axis CNC machine initially made the barrel cam incorrectly though the part was able to be salvaged.
