We realize this is confusing and are working on a better way to signpost which view you are currently in.  Between student and instructor, the functionality is significantly different–as an instructor you can do nearly anything with your course and will be given many more options–the side bar will be full of actions one could take.  As a student, you can only see published homeworks and respond to them; the side bar is a fraction of the size and limited to essentials.

TAs

Because of randomization of questions and parameters within problems it's common for each student to see something slightly different on assignments.  There are two ways to drill down into what a particular student is seeing/has submitted for an assignment, through 1) results OR 2) student grades from an assignment's left side bar.

1) Results-shows a roster of the students in the class and relevant scores for an assignment. To see exactly what the student saw, click on their name, and their assignment (and submitted answers thus far) will be pulled up.

2) Student Grades-presents a large spreadsheet of the full roster of the students with hyperlinked grades for different types of assignments (learning modules, homeworks, exams, etc). Identify the assignment and student you want to look more closely at, find it on the spreadsheet, and click on the score for that assignment for the specific student.  This too will pull up that particular student's assignment and submissions.
