(icon for manually imported assignments)

The manual assignment type allows for you to import grades for an assignment you administer outside of Quest. You must have an assignment type with a "Manual" submit method defined in your Grading Scheme to create this type of assignment.

While the layout will look slightly different, the following fields will be shown. Please note that in order to see the 'import manual grades' (on the left side bar) you must be drilled into a manual grade assignment.

Unlike other assignment types, manual assignments do not have to be published. Instead, you import students' grades.

Exams can be hybrid, such that some questions are multiple choice, and some are manually graded! Please reach out to us at questhelp@austin.utexas.edu if you'd like to explore that option for an upcoming exam.

The most common place to identify a question will be manually graded is on the assignment page. Select the question you want to be manually graded and flip the 'manual grade' switch on the right. The item indicated below is not (yet) manually graded.
