A main office administrator will assist you on matters concerning new phone lines, moving phone lines, smartvoice voicemail, ethernet port activation and install, and telephone equipment problems and requests in Winship. The turnaround time for most requests is about 2 weeks, but it could take longer. The exception is the smartvoice, which usually happens within a few business days.
New Phone Service
If you don't have phone service in a room with a phone jack, and you would like to have a new phone line installed – please provide your administrator with the following information:
- Office room number
- Telephone jack number to be used. If you are unsure about this part, then please ask your administrator to come take a look. Some jacks are programmed for telephone service and some for ethernet connection. As a general rule of thumb, phone jack numbers begin with a '1' and ethernet jacks start with a '5'.
- Telephone features desired (hands-free, call ID, etc). Please note that more features means more expense, so we may not be able to satisfy all requests.
Moving Phone Lines
If you are moving offices and need to keep your old phone line, then contact your administrator with the following information:
- Current office room number
- New office room number
- Current phone number
- The current telephone jack number you are hooked into (find this number above the phone jack where your phone plugs into the wall).
- The new telephone jack number you will be plugging into.
- Let your administrator know if there is already a phone number assigned to the end destination office room number and jack number.
Smartvoice Voicemail Service
If you have a telephone in your office, and would like to have the voicemail set up, then please contact your administrator with the following information:
