Introduction
This page explains what you'll need to know to use the Hitachi CP-X8150 projector on the Siemens Skyra 3.0T MRI scanner in NHB. This projector was installed 22 July8 Aug, 2019, and replaced the ProPixx projector ViewSonic that had been in use for several years previousjust a few weeks. The replacement was necessary due to unforeseen filter incompatibility issues. This projector supports HDMI, mini-DP (aka mini-DisplayPort), and DL-DVI (aka Dual Link-DVI) inputs from laptops. The projector is turned on and off using a web interface that can be accessed from most computers connected to the campus network (via Ethernet or WiFi).
If this is your first time using the new projector, start with the section titled, "Things to Know Before Before Configuring Your Computer to Use the Web Interface."

Turning Projector On and Off
1) Open a browser that has Adobe Flash installed (see instructions above), and go to http://projector.biomedimaging.utexas.edu/crestron.htm. If that doesn’t work, use http://172.16.154.231/crestron.htm instead. Once loaded, we recommend you bookmark this page for easy access in the future. You may see a page that looks similar to the one here, asking for permission to run Flash. If you see this, click the icon to give permission.
2) The interface will ask you for a password. The password is the 4 digit PIN, 0240. This happens to be the suite number for the BIC in NHB – 0.240. Just omit the decimal point in the number.
3) Click the Power button in the top left of the screen to toggle the power on and off.
4) you may see a Warming Up dialog when you turn on the projector, or a Cooling Down dialog when shutting down. This is normal, but please do not click anything while either of these dialogs are displayed.
VERY IMPORTANT: Do not click any other buttons on this page. You do not need any other options here. Only use this page to turn the power on and offremote control similar to the way the old PROPixx projector did.

Important Reminder
Please, when following the direction below, make sure that you do not press any buttons on the projector other than ON and STANDBY, as appropriate. Pressing other buttons could change the configuration of the projector, and have adverse effects on the quality of your video.
Turning Projector On
0) IMPORTANT: Make sure that AT LEAST five minutes have passed since the projector was put into standby mode. If you try to turn it on while the projector is cooling down from its last use, it may look as though it is not functioning properly.
1) From a distance of at least two feet (~60 cm), point the projector remote at the IR receiver (seen here), and press the ON button.
2) Verify that the projector turns on by looking for a blue test image on the projection screen.
Turning Projector Off
1)From a distance of at least two feet (~60 cm), point the projector remote at the IR receiver (seen above), and press the STANDBY button twice.
2) Verify that the projector does indeed turn off by looking for an absence of any messages or test patterns on the screen. Unlike the PROPixx projector, this one really needs to be turned off when not in use otherwise the bulb's life will be significantly reduced.
Selecting the Correct Input on Video Switch
1) First determine which input you will use: HDMI, mini-DP, or DL-DVI. Once you have, select the appropriate input cable, and plug it into your laptop. Note that each cable is labeled with the input name selectable on the video switch - HDMI goes to the input labeled HDMI 1, mini-DP goes to HDMI 2, and DL-DVI goes to HDMI 3.

4) Configure your laptop to send 1024x768 at 60Hz to the secondary display.
Things to Know Before Configuring Your Computer to Use Projector's Web Interface
- You will use a web interface to turn the projector on and off.
- The computer you use to control the projector does not have to be the laptop you use for stimulus.
- The projector interface uses Adobe Flash Player, and that is only supported on Windows by Internet Explorer and Firefox; on Macintosh, it is supported by Safari and Firefox. On both platforms, Firefox is strongly recommended. The configuration instructions below explain how to install Adobe Flash on your computer, If you already have Adobe Flash installed, you do not need to complete those steps.
- No mobile devices support Flash. You must use a system that runs Windows or a full OSX Mac (no iOS).
- This configuration procedure only has to be performed once on the computer you will use to control the projector. After that, no further updates are needed.
Configure Windows Computer to Use Projector's Web Interface
0) Be sure to read the section titled, "Things to Know Before Configuring Your Computer to Use Projector's Web Interface" above.
1) Open either Firefox or Internet Explorer (Firefox is strongly recommended).
2) Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download Flash Player. Unselect the checkboxes in the “Optional Offers” center pane, and then click “Install Now” in the lower right corner.
3) You might be prompted to either save or run the file. We recommend you save the file. The installer will be downloaded to wherever your browser saves documents – usually your downloads folder. Browse to that folder, and double click the installer. At the time of writing that file is called flashplayer32_xa_install, but could be slightly different when you do this.
4) You will be asked how you would like to manage updates for Flash Player. We recommend selecting “Notify me to install updates” and then click Next.
5) The installer will download the files it needs, install them in all the compatible browsers on your computer, and then ask you to close all browsers that have been affected.
6) Once the installation completes, you may proceed with the instructions above for turning the projector on and off.
Configure Macintosh Computer to Use Projector's Web Interface
