Figures 3 5 through 7 9 show the main internal components of the fishing rod. There is also a ratcheting system that is not pictured which basically when turned on does not allow the bail and line roller to rotate backwards, which is to prevent line from coming off the line spool. The gear ratio is 5.2:1 with 31 teeth on the hypoid ring gear and 6 teeth on the hypoid pinion gear. The velocity ratio is the ratio of number of teeth on the input gear to the number of teeth on the output gear. This results 31/6 so it is 5.167 but advertised as 5.2 on the reel. This means that for every single rotation of the reel handle there will be 5.167 rotations of the bail and line roller. The next thing to look at is the assembly for the oscillation of the line spool up and down. There is a helical gear attached to worm gear type rod that is in turn threaded into a small tooth like piece that is in turn fixed to the rod. As the worm gear rotates it pushes the rod up and down oscillating. The gear train here is the input that of the number of teeth on the hypoid ring gear to the number of teeth on the helical gear resulting in resulting at 31/7 or 4.43 so for every one rotation of the reel handle there will be 4.43 rotations of the helical gear. It takes 8 rotations from the helical gear to do one full oscillation on the worm rod. Meaning it takes 2.214 rotations from the reel handle to move the line spool up and down once. The only other Another interior mechanism is the drag, consisting of some washers and a few other pieces as well as a compression spring. What happens is there are two pieces one that is connected to the reel foot and body while the other one is just connected to the long rod from figures 5 7 and 68. There is a knob on the bottom that compresses the spring and plates together, as this happens a great amount of friction is created. This friction is what prevents the line spool from rotating. The only other Another moving component is the bail which can flip up allowing line to come off the line spool. This is achieved with a single spring connected to a plastic piece. The final piece that can affect the reel is the anti-reverse knob. On the inside the anti-reverse knob is simply a ratcheting system, when the knob is turned a piece inside is turned such that the bail can only rotate in one direction.
