Option B

If you're TRANSFERRING OUT of the T&D major, scheduling an advising session with Mark-Anthony is OPTIONAL.

  • If you are not scheduling an advising session, please SUBMIT the Registration Advising Sheet to have your advising hold removed. Follow the instructions by selecting “Yes” on the “Are you planning to TRANSFER OUT” question. 

If you have an earlier registration date, please submit the registration sheet earlier in order to have your advising hold removed. Forms must be submitted by 5pm central time to be processed within a business day.  

  • For assistance exploring other major options or navigating the internal transfer process, you may reach out to the Vick Advising Excellence Center.

For 1st years: If the major you're pursuing is not admitting students until the fall semester, it's important to register for the required T&D major courses for the spring semester in order to stay on track. 

  • If you are able to switch to an open major now, you won’t need to contact Mark-Anthony to remove your Advising Hold when you try to register for the summer/fall semesters.

How to prepare for Registration Advising

1.  BOOKMARK the Course & Advising Info Wiki.


2A. It's recommended to CLAIM appropriate AP/IB credits we've previously discussed, but it's not required in order to meet for advising. 

2B. It's recommended to SEND Transcripts of completed other college courses to UT Admissions, but it's not required in order to meet for advising. 

If you're unsure about these credits/courses, we can review them during your advising meeting, 


3. CHECK for Holds & your Registration Times on your Registration Information Sheet (RIS) BEGINNING Oct 2nd. (select spring semester).

Registration is Nov 4th - 15th.


4.  SCHEDULE an Advising Session HERE. 

Mondays through Thursdays have in-person appointments, Fridays and some Thursdays have Zoom appointments. If you see an option for a meeting that doesn't align with those specific days, please choose a correct option. 

Please read the "Provide Additional Information" section BEFORE filling in the "Add Your Details" on the appointment website.

  • Note: Instead of your address, please type input your UT EID for that section on the appointment website. 

  • Click on the image to see what the confirmation page should look like after scheduling a session.

  • You'll also receive an auto-confirmation email with subject line "CONFIRMED: In-Person Registration Advising" from TD Advising Meeting (tdadvisingmeeting@utexas.onmicrosoft.com).
      • To Cancel or Reschedule, click on "Reschedule" on your confirmation email. 
      • If you miss your appointment, you're welcome to schedule another one. 


5.  REVIEW the Spring Course Schedule online (available Oct 1st).



6.  If possible, FILL OUT a Registration Advising Sheet (RAS) before your advising session, but it's not required to be advised: https://utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_72IsfvLJ1EaCLHg.

    • If you're not sure, no worries, you can leave that section blank or write you're unsure. We will review your degree audit together during our advising meeting and update your advising sheet, which you'll receive at the end of our meeting.
