This handbook has been prepared by the Graduate Adviser and staff of the Department of Educational Psychology to (EDP) to help Educational Psychology graduate students progress through their degree programs as smoothly as possible. Students should always reference the latest version of the handbook webpages, as most procedural changes will affect this handbook online vs. printed or previous versions, as updates and procedural changes often apply to students regardless of cohort year.

Although In addition to this handbook is an excellent resource, it does not include complete information about area of specialization requirements. Your faculty adviser will be able to assist you with area requirements not covered in this handbook (requirements are also on each area’s webpage). This handbook also does not contain complete and important information , your faculty adviser and Area Chair / Program Director also provide guidance and information regarding program area requirements. Additional (and important) information about requirements and policies are covered by the General Information Catalog and the the Graduate Catalog. In addition, the The Graduate School website contains many rules, policies, and resources for graduate students must follow, so becoming you should become familiar with that site is importantas well

Students are responsible for understanding the rules and policies that govern their academic degrees and the processes involved to ensure successful academic progress to degree. The University catalogs and this handbook will assist in that process. You are advised to use all resources available to you and to plan well in advance to meet necessary deadlines. 

If you and your faculty adviser cannot find the answer to your question in available resources, the EDP Graduate Adviser and Graduate Coordinator are EDP staff are available to assist you.
