The candidate must provide a short personal statement (limited to four pages) that summarizes their:

  • teaching philosophy ,educational and goals for the courses and students taught,
  • relative success in accomplishing these goals,
  • description of any innovations or unique methods used,
  • self-reflection about changes implemented to address challengesimprove teaching effectiveness and address student comments,
  • discussion of demonstrated improvement, and
  • presentation of other materials to facilitate teaching evaluation.

Grants, contracts, honors, awards, and recognition related to teaching innovation and excellence should be discussed.

The candidate may also address the professional impact of COVID-19 on the teaching of organized courses.
