The College of Education research administration team is a branch of the Office of Educational Support (OERS) that encompasses COERA, the SMARTER Consulting team, and all other college research activities headed by the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies.


The Team:

The COERA team is comprised of 4 individuals with specific expertise:


TBDProposal Specialist
The proposal specialist assists with all proposal submissions and review, and any pre-award requests. While we recruit for this position, if you have a proposal questions, please email the COERA inbox for assistance.


Ana DalaAward Specialist
Ana takes over once the proposal is suggested for award. She will assist with navigating award documentation through OSP and providing support for award changes during the post-award phase. Additionally, she assists with award transfers, associated documentation, and award reporting. If you require an award increase, award amendment, statement of work tweak, or even a project budgetary change, Ana will assist you with that process.


Chaz GardinierPost-Award Specialist
Chaz leads the post-award management of the sponsored projects. He teams up with Ana and Karissa to lead appointment planning, transaction questions, account rebudgets, account budget planning, and financial report assistance.


Karissa VailCOERA Inbox Liaison and Transaction Coordinator
Karissa receives all inquiries made to the central COERA inbox and responds directly or makes sure the appropriate individual receives the request and follows-up to ensure that the request has been met.

Additionally, some transaction requests for units currently managed by COERA are led by Karissa who assists faculty in obtaining the correct information, assessing the sponsored project aspects, and shepherding the request to the appropriate COE-Finance or COE-HR contact for processing. This process is still being transitioned to and will have more information forthcoming.
