With the geometry of the mechanism defined through the development of a Solidworks model of our synthesized design, we set out to analyze the position, velocity, and acceleration of the two "table links" to determine a suitable motor choice and confirm our preliminary findings regarding the viability of the mechanism in accomplishing the prescribed design features.
To accomplish this goal we constructed a motion analysis simulation in Solidworks to simulate a servo-motor activation with a constant acceleration ramp profile at the beginning and end of activation. The motor was set to rotate 125 degrees over a period of 10 seconds and record the torque required by the motor to do so.
The results of this simulation are presented in Fig. 1 a,b, and c, Fig. 2 a,b, and c, and Fig 3.
