To view what your students are seeing, click on the small blue 'student' icon in the upper right hand corner.
This will take you to what a student will see and suspend your instructor features. Notice that when you are in student mode, it will say 'instructor' in the corner (as a vehicle to return to that functionality). To return to instructor view, click 'instructor' in the upper right hand corner.
When you are in instructor mode, 'student' will be displayed in the upper right hand corner.
We realize this is confusing and are working on a better way to signpost which view you are currently in. Between student and instructor, the functionality is significantly different–as an instructor you can do nearly anything with your course and will be given many more options–the side bar will be full of actions one could take. As a student, you can only see published homeworks and respond to them; the side bar is a fraction of the size and limited to essentials.
