Most McCombs classrooms will be outfitted with a wireless microphone system, a Zoom computer, a floor monitor and an auto-tracking camera. However, some small classrooms do not have these capabilities. In these rooms a lecturer can use Zoom to record only the audio and slides of their meetings for future review.

Either through canvas or the utexas.zoom.us settings, under the “Meeting” tab, you can set your camera to be turned off at the start of every meeting.

This will allow for only audio from your laptop or external microphone to be recorded as well as whatever screen is being shared via the screenshare option.

Alternatively, once the meeting is started you may select the camera icon in the setting bar where you can toggle the camera on or off for that individual session.
