- Jennifer and Digo met about the Wiki/New Employee Email. Jennifer is in the early stages of building out the Wiki and Digo said he would work with Del on the email.
- Keri & Vinh met to talk about the buddy program.
Items discussed:
- having an the buddy program be optional, have an intake form where they could sign up
- encourage past Leadership Group members to be involved as the mentors
- do we need to consider professional development?
- there is a goal of expanding the new employees network in McCombs and on campus in general
- we need to see if it would be feasible cost-wise to do the MBTI assessment
- if we do have the opportunity to include MBTI, there was a question if this should be optional - some people may not want to discuss theirs with their mentor
- mentors would not be expected to have more than 2 new employees per person
3. The rest of the folks are in the Video/Orientation Presentation group.
Sabine has convinced someone to do the orientation video (3-4 minutes) for exactly $1500 This is scheduled for mid October and will probably be over 3-4 days. The Dean is traveling in October and Michelle will work to get us on his schedule.
Moth to Flame was brought up as an option. In the past they've charged 3k for a 7 minute video. Sabine is going to see if they would consider our budget for this project.
Group Video Brainstorm
- Should the Dean start or end? Maybe both, if we split it up.
- use the "I work at McCombs." tagline throughout
- focus on student's success due to staff interation
- we need to get a couple of students together for consideration to be in the video
- we listed all of the areas of McCombs for consideration to be in the video - we will meet with the filmmaker in September to narrow these down
- Red McCombs will be here Nov 8th. Michelle will see if we can snag him for the video
Group Orientation Brainstorm
- orientation flow idea: Icebreaker -> Video -> PPT -> Tour/Scavenger Hunt -> Swag
- the idea of a scavenger hunt to replace a traditional tour came up - Stuart will check with the person who creates their student scavenger hunt to see if they can create one for new employees that would just take place inside of the building. We'll test it as a group.
- orientation should be no longer than an hour
