Purpose
This page describes the procedures you should follow if a fire emergency arises in the Imaging Research Center.
Introduction
Follow the procedures below in the event a fire emergency presents itself in the IRC.
Instructions
- Get out of the building. If you have a research subject, instruct them to come with you.
- Once you get outside, call 911. Tell the 911 operator about your situation, and that the location of the emergency is in the basement of the Norman Hackerman Building on the UT campus. Tell the operator that you will meet the emergency responders at the intersection of 24th Street and Speedway.
- Inform the emergency responders of the situation, and make sure they know the status of the magnet (quenched or not).
- Inform IRC staff of the situation.
