Budget

LET’S GO WE HAVE THE BUDGET DONE!!!

  • Congrats on the budget we have $5.8k to spend this next year

  • Internal Budget – for both prospective and current budgets

Recruiting

Questions we have written from before at the end of the page.
How many people do we want to recruit?

  • We have 100+ available time slots

Kayla:

  • my method of applicant review

  1. if they explicitly state that SOLAR or dynamics is their last choice - but especially solar - then immediate red

  2. if they state anything about solar preference and solar interest in their personality, reasons for joining, etc. immediate green - its rare and its unique

  3. If they pass prioritizing dynamics in some way (and didnt seem like they put solar last), and their writing indicates SOME personality and passion, then i check their resume and their portfolio, if there is SOMETHING that indicates SOME technical experience / tech interest AND leadership qualities (prio on the tech) then I mark green - checking the bullets for initiative and actual experience rather than just participation points

  4. red if they are too boring - too ambitious and talk about technical ambition without much previous experience or mention of team culture, comms, collab. - not stand-out

  • will need to edit the questions w/ the goal of:

    • evaluating their dedication and time commitment

    • VIBE CHECK - are they are good person? will they be a pleasant person to work with? are they even going to ENJOY the work they do with solar in particular?

    • every person is interested and smart, but are they going to be our team’s sustainable future?

  • interview method:

    • gonna start w a tech question relating to their resume or their response - grilling on the validity of their knowledge

    • then a funny question to lighten the mood

    • some personal questions that gauge their vibes

    • definitely a time commit / dedication question from the level 2

Week Plan

  • Tbh the 101 docs don’t matter as much as getting through the applications right now so any time you would be spending on 101 docs, spend on reading as many applicants as you can.

  • @Kayla Lee Suspension 101

  • @Evan Zhang Steering 101

  • @Samiksh Medudula Unsprung 101

Goals for myself

  • Get through every single application

  • Go to as many interviews as possible (keep up with school work)

  • Give y’all a better update on SRR, haven’t had time with budget and applications
