Image Use Guides

Image rights are managed in the Media module records separately from an artist’s copyright. For image reproduction (outside of fair use), we must obtain rights from the artist to reproduce the artwork, as well rights from the photographer who has photographed the artwork.

In-house photography by Blanton staff and contractors is under Blanton’s copyright and additional credit or permissions is unnecessary.

The “Image Readiness Report” provides information and context regarding the status of an artwork’s image for reproduction.
