Self Care

Everyone

  • Take care of yourself during these wacky times

    • Find things that are good for you

    • What have you been doing for self care?

Classroom Adults

Amy

  • Give adults leadership opportunities so that they have the tools to lead your class when necessary

  • No undergrads alone with kids

  • Must have written permission from parents to send kids home with an adult

    • Check emergency contact sheet. If you still aren’t sure check Jovial. Otherwise, send them to the front office so we can check that they are authorized and check their ID.

Bevo Bravo

Amy

  • Congratulations to Zexi for getting this week’s Bevo Bravo! She has stepped up in Sarah’s absence and has made tremendous strides in her teaching and leadership.

Positive Discipline

Kelli Kirk, LMSW

Positive Discipline

  • Roleplaying adult-child expectations (The Competent Giant). One person stands up or gets on a chair and scolds another person kneeling on the ground

    • Reflection on how that made us feel as the “child”

  • Activity: Now challenges, what do they need from us, and future characteristics and life skills

    • Reflection on the challenges we are seeing day to day and how we can meet them with a goal in mind

  • Curiosity questions

    • Asking instead of telling allows children to think and choose - solution focused

      • What were you trying to accomplish?

      • How do you feel about what happened?

      • What did you learn from this?

      • How can you use what you learned in the future?

      • What ideas do you have for solutions now?
