Linking LAITS-Supported Units to Electronic Office for Computer Support

In order for LAITS staff members to be able to view inventory data for LAITS-supported units and generate Equipment Transfer NT1 electronic documents via CCARTS, it is necessary for the Electronic Office Management (EOM) manager for each client to link their own unit/subunits to an Authorization View named INVMGMT.

To be clear, these steps are not moving any units/subunits themselves from electronic offices to one in LAITS. Instead, completing the steps allows for select LAITS staff members on Desks attached to the Authorization View to access data from clients for the purposes of inventory management and computer support only.


The EOM manager should provide the needed access by following these steps

1. Please go to the Electronic Office Management system https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ew/eom_main.WBX and search for Office Name LANGLAB at the top right of the webpage. Select Office Name from the pull-down menu, type LANGLAB in the empty field, and click on the orange Search button.

2. Be sure that you are on the LANGLAB electronic office. Click on the Authorizations tab. Then click on the orange [Units () /Accounts ()] link on the same line as the Auth (Admin) View named INVMGMT.

3. A new window will pop up with a link that says [Add Unit/Account]. Click on it.

4. A window will pop up where you can select Type Unit and then add all of your units/subunits with computers managed by the LAITS Computer Support Team – which will make it easier for the team to support your machines and provide technical assistance.
