    • at least 50% of leadership from each team must be present

Highlights

really cool solar car we found(matthew & jason) i think we gotta pivot the design

Blockers/Conflicts

Do you have any blockers or conflicts that are preventing you from making forward progress/completing certain tasks OR making things more difficult than they should be?

Review of Thanksgiving Break

What was planned for break:

What got done:

Try to get CAD for the each part of the car done for each subsystem

Aerodynamics

  • have finalized vague architecture design?

Advait - Finish daybreak stuff + finish battery box panels + finish processing for initial test of first forged carbon fiber test, figure out what to improve in manufacturing/prep process

Continue work on designing/planning ergo projects

Finalize ansys setups for frame sims

  • motor controller cooling

  • Intake/exhaust panel patterns

  • Parthiv got a haircut

Steering got upper and lower steering CAD to exist

Unsprung was traveling the entire time

Suspension got a mix of some CAD and force matrix but also some weren’t able to get work done.

Overall minimal progress but people were able to rest

Aerodynamics

  • some members(at least 2) got their sims done

Composites

  • all bb layups except 1

  • all daybreak prep done, pretty much ready to bond w/ frame whenever

  • Did first frame test pieces

  • Did one with a higher vol fraction which looks better (bc less excess resin) but i forgot to take pic

  • Sanded the fcf part a bit, not effective. takeaway: we need to get rid of layer lines in mold. solution, more sanding or acetone vapor stuff

    image-20241203-012523.png
  • michael and i cleaned out pickle

Ansys sims for latest frame iteration was setup and ran

Only of a little bit of progress on daybreak pedal box, otherwise not much ergo work done

  • motor controller cooling

  • Intake/exhaust panel patterns

Plan for this week - please break tasks down into sub-tasks

Dynamics

  • CAD for every part should exist by Thursday

Unsprung

  • Sim the hubs

    • Redesign

  • Break button dimensions and forces on the rotor when we lock up

  • Figure out how to properly use SKF simquick pro

  • Finalize brake rotor design, figure out ways to manufacture in house or outsource the manufacturing of the brake rotors, and document your brake rotor decision process

  • Make CAD for trailing arm with caliper mount, motor joint, and “pin joint” for the frame

Steering

  • Talk to Kenta about actual location of upper steering pertaining to steering wheel

  • Fix the steering in the frame reference sketch

Supension

  • completely define the hdpts

  • first sim dummy apexes and bellcranks

  • define spring rates ( have to talk to ic and fix some orientations of the masses on the car maybe)

  • probably going to tweak the motion ratio in the front - first shock selections

Aerodynamics

  • everyone needs to have an idea for the part they want to put on the shell, it needs to be able to put together as a final part on workday

Aeroshell(me)

  • need to define some architecture things by workday, flat topshell or not,

Composites

  • finish battery box, another metal sheet to be sanded, start making test coupons for nomex honeycomb frame panels, finalize test fixtures for panels, finalize test plans for demold and resin infusion

  • Also will be working w/ emech to finalize plans for composite enclosure and also testing abs acetone vapor stuff to use in composite enclosure and composite steering wheel

Frame

  • Compile all data from latest sims → see what design changes to make from there

  • Continue jig design and weld plan → set due December 14th

Ergo

  • Review initial designs for ballast box, seat, steering wheel @ body meeting tmr, go from there

  • Work on daybreak pedal box

  • replace motor fuse, try to run again

  • finish battery panels and send them to get water jet

  • start manufacturing new locks

  • start manufacturing vibration jig

  • cooling stuff - intake, exhaust, mppt, calcs

Daybreak Progress

You tell me

finished sanding the bottom of daybreak

um

^

Questions people have

Have yall gotten good feedback in one on ones?

What do you need from me this week?

Help with Ansys and loading conditions for each part

 Action items

@Gerard Cardenas Discuss component loading with @Harshit Dalmia
Call Tanu about this ^

 Decisions

Meeting Notes:

Blockers

  • Bulkheads on day-break, need to be trimmed, they are improperly made

    • How structural are they? Not that structural, they are not holding up anything

    • They are going to be pushed to be remade later focus on demolding testing.

  • Dynamics needs to know where the steering wheel will be placed

  • Body/ergo needs to know where the steering rack is?

  • Vacuum pump

  • We don't know how to get spring rate

Updates

  • Dynamics tried to get cad done.

    • Steering got a lot done suspension and unsprung did not.

    • Dynamics is behind on the track

    • Switching to Ansys for Sims

  • Ergo didnt have much progress but frame did

    • daybreak peddle box was done

  • Emech made the motor controler done they are going to make tabs.

    • Have to 3d-print/laser cut the vibration jigs.

    • Need to calculations for the motor controler and mppt.

Week work

  • Frame is going to work on jig plan, welding order plan

  • Ergo is going to work on next gen projects, see what need to be changed or improved.

    • work on daybreak peddle box

  • Aeroshell is going to be presenting all of the final ideas and sketches to see what plan needs to be made. Figure out the concept sketch and finalize how each part is going to look.

    • Need the know aeroshell design figured out soon so array can work

    • Rounded/ rectangular array?

    • Should be make body longer?

    • How are we attaching the aeroshell to the frame?

  • Dynamics

    • All CAD should exist.

    • How and when are we selecting shocks?

      • Need to define shock characteristics and shock soon before PDR.

One on Ones-

  • Areoshell - feels like there wasn't much productive feedback from the one on ones.

    • ask person questions about their work, and how we are running the meetings, work, structure.

What we need from our lord GERARD?

  • Need help figure out the loading conditions on the parts and car as a whole.

  • Phillip will continue talking to Tanu to figure out loading conditions.

Email from Brian

  • Nothing important right now
