6. Final Prototype Mechanism Design

In the video below you can see our mechanism perform a complete revolution of its function. As the crank rotates 360 degrees clockwise, the mechanism goes from one end to the other, extending its arm in that direction. The extension in both directions can be seen in the pictures below, as well as in the video. Ideally, the arm would extend and have a gripper attached to its end, so that it can pick up an object and transfer it to the opposite end. As you can see from the images, the electronics of the mechanism can be stored in the gap between the two base plates, allowing for a compact and neat look. The prototype is still a bit flimsy and lacks a sense of concrete robustness, something we definitely want to improve in the future.
