Vector Loop Analysis of the Mechanism
Breaking Down of our Bird Wing Mechanism
We used five different position loops to solve the missing lengths and angles in mechanism. A several figures showing our link and angle definitions are shown below, in conjunction with our position loop equations.

Note, link segments 7 and 4 that are constrained to share the same angle, so they act as effectively one link in our mathematical model.
After making the decision to design bird wing mechanism, research began. In order to make the motion accurate we needed to find our own wing motion data to compare wand strive for as we developed our ow device.
In addition, we needed to determine a complex mechanism to create this motion, which again required a little research for inspiration.
