Hard Drive Disk Permissions How to Set Read Write and Ignore Permissions
When a hard drive is mounted in our lab and the user can not write to it you need to check the permissions
Right click on the hard drive icon on the desktop
Choose to "Get Info" | |
Click on the lock to unlock and you will have to put in your UN = EID PW = your EID password (remember your EID is now admin) so you can set permissions
Check the box that Ignores ownership on this volume Also make sure that "Everyone" Can Read and Write
Then pull the settings drop down and choose to "Apply to enclosed items"
That should fix the hard drive read and write problems |
