- Adjust pH to 6.0 with NaOH.
- For solid medium, add 16 g agar per liter.
- Autoclave.
- For the 1X 1-L solution, cool to ~50ºC in a water bath and aseptically add the following filter-sterilized solutions:

20% sodium pyruvate, 30 mL OR 40% sodium pyruvate, 15 mL
