Website Steering Committee
The Website Steering Committee, led by the web content manager, will provide guidance to support the maintenance of quality and continued effectiveness of the LBJ core website. It will also consider existing sites related to the LBJ School and make recommendations toward alignment with the LBJ and UT brand.
The steering committee will govern based upon best practices in web development and content innovation, the vision and needs of the school, and data collected about user behavior on the website.
Specifically, the steering committee will:
Regularly review reports analyzing user behavior and website success based on website goals and key performance indicators agreed upon by the committee
Manage and/or support the processes necessary to determining and implementing iterative updates, including anticipating needs for content assets and managing and/or supporting content and multimedia acquisition processes
Implement and oversee regular content strategy maintenance tasks to be performed by the web content manager, content owners and/or contributors, including:
Annual benchmarking of peer institutions, to include a content gap analysis and brainstorm of new ideas
Annual content audits, which provide content owners an opportunity to assess existing content and report issues and challenges
User testing sessions, surveys, focus groups, etc., as needed, to assess user perception and behavior
The committee will be consulted as needed on:
Content contributor roles and workflow
Creating new pages
Adjusting primary and secondary navigation
Adding and/or adjusting new features and functionality
Engaging external vendors to pursue content asset or technical development
The steering committee will meet on a quarterly basis but may convene at other times if needed based on current issues or questions.
