Getting Started with Question Creation
Ready to make some questions? Great! Here are some overview things to note before we get into the more detailed coding parts
1) To make a New Question click the three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner to expand the left side bar. If you have the number of a question you want to look at you can enter it in the 'jump to id' field.
2) Clicking New Question will yield one of the following two offers. (If you'd like the longer list please email us at questhelp@austin.utexas.edu and ask to be added as a developer). Regardless of what is displayed for you, you can make all question types based on the template feature.
Non developer display (common):
Developer view (more rare):
3) The questions blocked in blue are advance and have a host of other support pages to furrow into.
Html & JS is for matrix problems
TeX & (C or JS) is the most commonly used question type to introduce randomization in variables. It can take the form of numeric free response (also called TeX Open, template #179792) or TeX multiple choice (template #179793).
use any existing question as a template by using the ID number to make a copy and change for your purposes. Please always use this when tailoring a question for your purposes, as other people use the original question.
