How to Run a Degree Audit - Theatre and Dance Majors


GO TO IDA Website select an option under the Navigation Menu

SELECT Audit Results to look for a current EXISTING Audit.  CLICK ON the numbers under the "Audit ID" column to open the audit.

SELECT Audit Requests to run an UPDATED audit.  


*SELECT the "Currently In-Progress Courses" and "Future Registered Courses" boxes.

*SELECT Catalog Begin Year.  Unless you switched catalogs, if you started in T&D in:

*Fall 2024 or Fall 2025 select 2024. 

*Fall 2022 or Fall 2023, select 2022.
*Fall 2020 or Fall 2021, select 2020.
*Fall 2018 or Fall 2019, select 2018.
*Fall 2016 or Fall 2017, select 2016. This catalog expires by the end of August 2024.

*SELECT College (Fine Arts), Degree Plan, Minor or Certificate is optional, then SUBMIT.

                        Notes: 

*2018-2020 and newer catalog BA students should choose the BA option with their emphasis.

BA Costume, Lighting, Scenery, Sound/Media, & Stage Management are under BA Design & Technology.

*2018-2020 BFA Dance students should choose the BFA option with their emphasis (Dance or Dance Studies).

*2020-2022 or newer catalog BFA Dance students should choose the BFA option with their emphasis (Dance or Dance Education).
 




You'll see a list of Audit Results. 

*REFRESH the page until the "Request Status" changes to completed.  

*CLICK ON the numbers under the "Audit ID" column to open the audit.




You'll see your degree audit. 

*On the right side, near the "Legend" box, SELECT "Show all details".

You can CLICK ON the tab titles for different views. 

Checklist shows your completed, in-progress and future (if selected) coursework.

Courses shows your courses by semester.

Remaining only shows the requirements you're lacking.
 



ENSURE that what you're registered for is satisfying the EXACT REQUIREMENT you wanted.

*VERIFY ALL the Courses you registered for are listed.

*VERIFY the Core classes you're taking actually do satisfy Core requirements.

Common Core errors:

*Enrolled in a UGS course, but it doesn't satisfy the First-Year Signature Course requirement (UGS 302 or UGS 303). 

*Enrolled in an English Literature course, but it doesn't satisfy Humanities (E 316L / 316M / 316N / 316P or C L 315).

*Enrolled in a World History course, but should be in a US History course.

*Enrolled in a Science course designed for Science majors, which is allowed if you meet the prereqs, but Non-Science Major courses were available.

*Enrolled in a Government course that isn’t part of an allowed Course Pairing.  

*Unless you were advised to, you SHOULD NOT take extra classes just for Flag requirements


*VERIFY you're enrolled in the Correct Level of a course.  

Common errors:

     *Enrolled in TD 314P Production Labs, but should be in TD 324P Adv Production Lab.

     *Enrolled in incorrect level of Dance Technique -

          BFA Dance: 2 semesters of TD 312C & 312F, 2 semesters of TD 312D & 312G, then Nine hours chosen from T D 321P, 322E, 322J, 232Q, 352P, 352T, or 357T. 

          BFA Dance Ed: 2 semesters of TD 312C & 312F, 1 semester of TD 312D & 312G.

     *Enrolled in incorrect level of PDPR -

           BFA Dance: 2 semesters of TD 212P, 2 semesters of TD 222P, and 1 semester of TD 232P.

          BFA Dance Ed: 1 semester of TD 212P, 1 semester of TD 222P, and 1 semester of TD 232P.

*VERIFY you received Grades for your completed courses. 

*CHECK FOR Excluded and/or Duplicate classes at the beginning and courses not counting at the end.

Common error:  Enrolled in a course you've already completed at UT or via AP/IB/SAT/ACT, dual credit or other college.
