Instructor Consent Process for Undergraduate Theatre & Dance Courses
Instructor Consent Process for Undergraduate Theatre & Dance Courses
The online instructor consent form found on UT Box is used when your course requires consent of instructor even for Theatre & Dance majors. So any UT student may be placed on this online form, but priority always goes to T&D majors.
Restrictions for non-majors are usually lifted the last day of registration.
Students must add themselves to the course.
Instructions
Instructors may place names & EIDs of students on the online consent sheets, to be found in folder TAD-Faculty_and_Staff, located on the UT Box website: https://utexas.app.box.com
(Note: In order to edit the spreadsheets, you may need to download the Box Edit app. https://utexas.app.box.com/services/box_edit)
For further instructions on what the color-coding means: see pdf “Instructor Consent Example” in the same UT Box folder.
It is the responsibility of the instructor of the course to determine whether or not the course requires instructor consent and to inform the department course scheduler every semester when and if a course requires instructor consent.
Restricting a course by consent of instructor overrides any and all the other prerequisites the course may require.
Instructor consent allows you the most control over who can take your class but your class will also be more at risk of not enrolling enough students to meet the minimum enrollment requirements.
