To connect instrument to ThermoFisher Instrument Connect:

Set up your ThermoFisher Connect Account.
Register the instrument with the IOT network (utexas-iot)
1. You will need the MAC address from the instrument. (On the instrument panel, go to the gear symbol, then connectivity, then WiFi. MAC address will be shown.)
2. Once registered, you will receive a WiFi password specific to the instrument.

Connect the instrument to IOT network.
1. On the instrument panel, go to the gear symbol, then connectivity, then WiFi. Select the IOT network and enter the password obtained above.
2. Once connected, back out (hit the home button). You don’t have to log in, even though the login button is prominent.

Link the instrument to your ThermoFisher Cloud account.
1. Have your mobile device with the ThermoFisher Connect app installed.
2. On the instrument panel, go to the gear symbol, then connectivity, then Instrument Connect. Use the QR code option to obtain a QR code from the instrument.
3. In the app, click the + icon in the top right corner, click on QR code and scan the QR code from the instrument.

Notes:

Both TSX freezers were registered on the UT IOT (Internet Of Things) network 01/19/2021. They were registered using Elizabeth’s EID, eak775. Both freezers were connected to WiFi and linked to ThermoFisher Connect on1/21/21.

In order to use the ThermoFisher Connect app, you first have to connect it with the ThermoFisher Cloud. The ThermoFisher Connect mobile app was connected with the ThermoFisher Cloud using my iPad. It gave my iPad an Instrument ID: 46129. My phone is also registered with the app.
