Chemical Waste Management

Anyone can tag and submit waste for disposal using the EHS Chemical Safety Software. Instructions for doing so can be found here; please read them before submitting waste for disposal.

Procedures specific to our lab are outlined below.

1. Log in with EID and password.
2. Select “Request for Chemical Waste Disposal”.
3. Follow the instructions mentioned above, utilizing the naming scheme outlined below.

Waste Disposal Streams

Whenever you submit something for disposal it MUST have a “Chem Name”, aka “waste disposal stream name”, which is permanently saved in the database. Thus, it is imperative we follow a consistent naming scheme so that we can easily find and use previously entered waste streams.
