NRJGCMCF: Conflicts Report
This report tells us when there is a conflict in a GPC
Report is read left to right comparing CSN1, UNQ 1 etc. on the left with CSN2, UNQ 2 etc. on the right
Known conflicts
- If it's the same professor for both sections it should be fine
- If it's the same course meeting together for timeline 2
- Language classes meeting together for TL2
- Departments using a room during their departmental control
Any other type of conflict should be investigated
NRJGCRJ4 Missing XL Classes
This document tells us of potential course relations i.e. classes that are in the same timeline but not related which can be a conflict.
Report is read left to right comparing CSN1, UNQ 1 etc. on the left with CSN2, UNQ 2 etc. on the right
There is 1 type of accepted missing course relation:
- Classes with class meets dates that do not overlap e.g. Class A meets Jan 1-Jan 15 and Class B meets Feb 1-Feb 15 but have the same timeline
Potential course relations and conflicts
- If same department, title, or instructor set to room share unless Same-as is obvious. Leave log note 'Defaulting to room share' or 'setting course relations'
- If a conflict, try to find solution
NTJGCRJ3 Non Timeline Errors
This output tells of errors with classes that are related together
Report is read left to right comparing CSN1, UNQ 1 etc. on the left with CSN2, UNQ 2 etc. on the right
In the error field it will display what type of error:
- Classes are related but have differing timelines
- NIV1: Course relation inventory discrepancy e.g. Courses are a same as in class manager but are not in inventory
- Correct NIV1 errors using CSU to correct inventory same as relationships (thanks Jindosh)
- NFOS: Same field of study meeting as a same-as e.g. ARC 696 and ARC 692K listed as a same-as
NRJGCRSW: Standard Statement Sync
Note: In job submission page select 'No' for all fields. Run as report only.
Report is read left to right comparing F60-K (course file 60) etc. on the left with F34-K (inventory file 34) etc. on the right
- Open output in Excel (right click, open with, Excel)
- Delete rows 1-7
- Filter top row starting with CCYYS
- Column Y, Discrepancies, filter for X
- Compare switch discrepancies between F60 (course file) and F34 (inventory)
Combined Timelines
Open an All Sections Report
- Create 4 new tabs labelled: TL1, TL2, TL3, and All TLs
- Filter TLs
- Filter #TL for all but 0 or blank. Copy selection and paste into TL1 tab
- Filter #TL for 2, 3. Copy selection and paste into TL2 tab
- Filter #TL for 3. Copy selection and paste in TL3 tab
- Edit Tabs
- TL1 Tab
Change all #TL to 1
Delete column DAYS (AO)-TL NOTES3 (BD)
- TL2 Tab
Change all #TL to 2
Copy Days 2 (AO)-TL NOTES 2 (AV) and paste over Days 1
Delete column Days 2 (AO)-GPC3 (BC)
- TL3 Tab
Change all #TL to 3
Copy Days 3 (AW)-TL NOTES 3 (BD) and paste over Days 1
Delete column Days 2 (AO)-GPC3 (BC)
- Copy TL1, 2, and 3 tabs and paste into All TLs tab
- Sort TLs
- NOTE: Sort timeline 1, 2, and 3 separately
Sort order: BLDG, RM, DAYS, FROM, UNQ, INST NAME
- Formulas
- Add 8 columns between 'INC' and 'CORE CODE'. Even if you are only using 1 formula you must make 8 columns and place the formula specifically or modify the formula
- Copy paste formulas from a previous combined TLs
