The knowledge and skills that are developed in this MEd degree will form the basis of that ability to teach and innovate across instructional situations. The program will be of special interest to those who wish to pursue academic medicine positions at other medical schools and laboratories.

  • Students will participate with faculty members in a faculty development course offered at the medical school, Extraordinary Learning and Teaching in the Ambulatory Setting.

  • Students will spend time each week in the first semester observing teaching and learning sessions across the medical education continuum, especially in those settings in which they have not previously participated as learners.

  • Students will serve as teachers during the second semester in the first and second year medical student curriculum, either as the primary instructor or a co-teacher with a faculty member.

  • Students will have the opportunity to participate in faculty development programs offered in the medical school, e.g., medical education grand rounds, medical education journal club, interdepartmental resident grand rounds.

Courses: 36  36 credit hours are required for the Master of Education degree, of which 6 credit hours are waived from the Dell Medical School curriculum. Students will take 30 unique credit hours as an EDP student.
