  • Thermal resistance of a battery box panel

  • Thickness of model walls that would match the thermal resistance of a battery box panel

  • A 0.1ohm resistor rated for extremely high power so that we can draw 40A from a 4V module

  • Tested Module

  • Mock Assembly

Parts:

Calculations:

  1. Find thermal resistivity of kevlar 29, foam, 105 resin/209 hardener epoxy, and woven carbon fiber

  2. Find thermal resistivity of kevlar/epoxy composite and carbon fiber/epoxy composite using the weight ratios used during layup

  3. Measure each section (kevlar, foam, carbon fiber) thickness

  4. Use the resistivities and thicknesses to find thermal resistances of each section, add them all to find thermal resistance of whole panel.

  5. With the desired thermal resistance and resistivity of PLA, we can find the thickness needed from each mock enclosure wall.
