Basic Search
Note |
---|
If you are using a PID as a search term in Basic or Advanced Search, always enclose the PID in double quotes. Searching by PID without double quotes will result in imprecise search result sets. |
...
The Basic Search function allows you to search for a keyword across a predefined set of metadata fields available in the Solr index (e.g. title, subject, description, contributor, date, format, rights, full text). In the current DAMS implementation, a collection namespace can be selected to limit the search space.

Advanced Search
Note |
---|
If you are using a PID as a search term in Basic or Advanced Search, always enclose the PID in double quotes. Searching by PID without double quotes will result in imprecise search result sets. |
The Advanced Search function allows you to select specific metadata fields in the Solr index for a search, including a combination of search queries. With the advanced search, complex search queries can be constructed to limit the search space.
