For most DMS students, the MBA degree cannot be entirely completed within the third year. You will work with your MBA advisor to plan for when you will complete the last two MBA electives during your fourth year. |
Through the MD/MBA dual-degree program arrangement, DMS students apply the equivalent of 21 credit hours of Medical School coursework towards requirements for the MBA degree. The MD/MBA degree requires completion of 41 credit hours of MBA coursework as follows:

Degree Requirements
This program is only for third-year Dell Medical School students who are accepted into the MBA dual degree program. In order to apply for the MD/MBA dual degree program, students must be in good academic standing at Dell Medical SchoolThrough the MD/MBA dual-degree program arrangement, DMS students apply the equivalent of 21 credit hours of Medical School coursework towards requirements for the MBA degree. The MD/MBA degree requires completion of 41 credit hours of MBA coursework.

This program is only for third-year Dell Medical School students who are accepted into the MBA dual degree program. In order to apply for the MD/MBA dual degree program, students must be in good academic standing at Dell Medical School.
- Visit the MBA Admissions website to learn about the components of the application. Dell Medical students are required to submit their professional resume, two essays, transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and the nonrefundable application fee. The GMAT/GRE is waived for Dell Medical students.
- Begin the application at: https://graduate-admissions.mccombs.utexas.edu/apply
- Complete the McCombs application no later than the Round 2 application deadline in January.
