- in Word, Go to the Tools menu>Templates and Add-ins, and untick the boxes for the add-ins. If there are others for EndNotes or Zotero, leave those alone.
- Quit word.
- To open your hidden user Library folder, Go to the Finder (leftmost icon on the dock with blue/white face) and hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu and choosing Library. The folder will open.
- The Go menu will appear at the top bar of the screen once you're in finder.
- Open Group Containers/UB48T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word.
- Look for a folder titled "Group Containers"
- Then look for the folder titled "UBF8T346G9.Office"
- Under that drop down, click on the folder titled "User Content"
- Under that drop down, click on the folder titled "Startup" and then the folder titled "Word"
- Drag the Acrobat add-in file LinkCreation.dotm and possibly also SaveAsAdobePDF.ppam to your desktop, then restart Word to test that the crash is gone by opening a new blank document.
- Reopen Word and create a new document and see if the error returns.
