Process for requesting personal time away

For scenarios described in chart "A" above.

1) Email dean.education@austin.utexas.edu, with copies toand cc both the department Administrative Manager and Karen Pfeiffer, and must include. Include the following:

a) The dates you will be absent from work duties

b) Who will cover your responsibilities, including teaching, during the

c) Contact phone number in case of emergency

2) If the request is approved by the Dean or his Dean's delegate, Dean's Office staff will email the approval to the traveler and the Administrative Manager, and will add the dates to the staff calendar so the Dean knows who will be away from the office.

Note that for Personal Time Away, a Travel Authorization Request (TAR) is no longer required.
