  1. Locate a non-LDAP org within your department's org that you have access to. If you do not have a non-LDAP org, you can create one and contact the UTBackup Service Admins and ask them to disable LDAP authentication for you.
  2. Move the user's account to that non-LDAP org by finding the user and choosing Change Organization from the Action menu.
  3. Choose the non-LDAP org from the list of organizations and click the Move button.
  4. After the user has been moved to the non-LDAP org, choose Edit User from the Action menu.
  5. Set a new password and click Update User.
  6. Install UTBackup on a spare new computer and log in using the user's EID and the password you just set in step 5.

  7. Restore files as usual. It is highly recommended that you be on a wired ethernet connection on the UT Austin campus.

  8. When restoration is complete, move the user back to their original org following steps 2 and 3 above. Their password will be reset back to their EID password.
