HDFS offers both color / black & white printing for faculty, staff and students. Following the protocol below ensures that the printing needs of the overall department are met. This also helps us maintain and sustain this resource for everyone.
- The Ricoh printer is intended primarily for instructional use.
- The department can support research related printing on the Ricoh (NOT the color printer) within reason. Big print jobs (e.g. 50 pages or more) will need to be outsourced to the University of Texas Libraries or Document Solutions. Both of these options offer direct billing to UT accounts or self pay.
- The color printer in the mail room is primarily for admin use. Color ink cartridges are very expensive. The wider department can occasionally use the color printer for small printing jobs (5 pages or less).
